Appointments
All surgeries are by appointment and appointments are available each day though some can be pre-booked well in advance. You may also ask for or be offerd a phone call. Urgent cases will be seen the same day.

SWINE FLU

We have started our Swine Flu vaccinations. Everyone will be contacted by letter or by phone in priority order. If you do have any concerns please call the surgery.

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR OPENING

We will be closed 24th 25th December and New Years day. All other days we will be open as usual 8am to 6.30pm. Please remember we are closed  Sat & Sun

Vaccination Schedule

pregnantFamily Planning and Contraceptive Advice

We offer a complete family planning service including advice on contraception and emergency contraception (sometimes called the morning after pill).

Smoking Cessation Advice

We provide advice on how patients may stop smoking. We also hold smoking cessation clinics which can be booked through reception. We actively encourage patients to have a programme for stopping smoking and adopting a lifestyle for reducing the risk of heart disease.

Travel Vaccinations

Our practice nurses are well-trained and experienced in helping you to be adequately protected for your holiday trip abroad. We offer a comprehensive range of vaccinations. A fee may be charged for some vaccines. Please ask at reception. See the practice information page 'Travel Information' for details of our online form

Minor Surgery

A range of minor operations such as removal of lumps and bumps are carried out at the surgery.

General Clinic

We hold a number of specialist nurses' clinics covering a wide range of problems, for example: Asthma and Diabetics clinics.

Includes immunisations and development checks. You will be called for immunisation for the under 5's automatically by the Health Authority. Please let us know if your child is ill or cannot attend

Flu Jab

If you have a heart or lung problem, asthma, diabetes or are in frail health you are advised to have a flu injection every year. Clinics normally begin in September when the vaccine becomes available.

Antenatal Clinic

The antenatal clinic is led by the midwife and the doctor is available for consultation when necessary. Care is usually shared with the hospital.

Cervical Smears

We recommend that all women up to the age of 50 have a smear test every three years and women between 50 and 64 every five years. You may make an appointment for a smear with the practice nurse during normal working hours.

These are available for insurance, HGV and pre-employment purposes. A fee is charged based on the recommended published sales from the BMA. Please ask at reception.

Chaperone Policy

In certain circumstances during an examination of an intimate nature the doctor may ask a nurse to be present. This is to protect both the doctor and the patient. If a suitable chaperone is not available an alternative appointment will be offered. A patient may of course request a chaperone be present but this may mean that another appointment will be necessary.
